Dogs of Mystic Quarry

Here at Mystic Quarry, we are definitely dog people. Maybe you have been greeted in the office by some of our MQ pups? Let's be honest they are the ones in charge here!

It goes without saying we are all really bummed that we had to cancel this year's Pints-n-Pups event. Our rescheduled date would have actually been happening this weekend. This year would have marked our third time putting on this fun day celebrating dogs, beer, community and raising some money to help a worthy cause. Even though we may not be able to put on the event today as we had hoped, we can still certainly celebrate our awesome MQ dogs! I hope you will enjoy these exclusive interviews with the dogs of Mystic Quarry.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for next year’s Pints-n-Pups event: May 8th, 2021.

What's your favorite thing to do at MQ?

Oh-my-gosh this is a tough one! I'd have to say everything is so so fun here! I just loveeee my job of welcoming each guest in the office- I mean hello I get free belly rubs! The music on Friday nights is also fab!

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

Oh easy- I'd be able to talk for reals! Duhhhh! I could tell you all about the lizards I chase, my adventures with my brother Shiner, seeing all my favorite people… *whistle from afar* Oh Dad's calling me gotta go!

What do you hope to see in the future for MQ?

Seriously? What kind of question is that? I mean I want to see the business be successful, but I could do without all the people here. Retract that- I do like when the unsuspecting guests assist me in breaking out of the office. I suppose the guests can stay.

Could you describe your perfect evening?

I enjoy the perfect evening every nightfall. After the humans and Canyon go to sleep, I like to retreat into my study, pour myself a stiff drink, and read a stimulating thriller. I hide the evidence of my supreme intellect and get some shuteye.

What do you do at MQ?

I am the head of my human's security. I assist him with RV lead-ins, watering the plants, trash runs, we have eyes on this park 24-7. Sometimes my human makes the mistake of leaving me at home-but I stay alert and always know his 20. Actually, at last year’s Pints-n-Pups event I had to breakout of a window just to verify my human’s safety as there were far too many canines on site. I do what it takes.

If you were stuck on a deserted island what 3 things would you bring?

My human, the refrigerator, and my bandana collection.

Could you describe a typical day at MQ?

Oh gosh, let me tell you about yesterday. Mom let me out early and… the smells – fox, squirrels, deer... can you smell that? Oh, oh, and then breakfast, I really like breakfast. I said hi to all the tent campers and friends in the park. They are really impressed with the sticks I find, and they love my wiggly butt. Then I went to the office to nap and then I went with dad to maintenance so I can play in the dirt and then… wait, you ever play in the dirt, fun right? Hold on, I think next was a treat or maybe another nap. And then …

Okay, okay, okay… What is the best part about living at Mystic Quarry?

The very best part has gotta be being close to the lake, the river, the trees, the trails, the wildlife, my good friends, great meals, campfires, live music and sleeping under the bright stars. Yep, that’s it – that’s the best part.
