The Gristmill is located under the water tower in downtown Gruene, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is so popular that there is a beer garden with benches for you to sit in while waiting for your table. You may also be entertained with live music. Go ahead and enjoy a soda, margarita or cold beer underneath the beautiful shade trees as you take in the beauty of the river just a few steps away. The food will not disappoint, whether you’re craving fresh fish, their homemade spicy queso, or juicy steaks. They also have a fantastic wine list.

It's the oldest dance hall in the state of Texas and has had some of the most popular country singers and legends to perform there over the years. Included in those performers are Willy Nelson, George Strait, Lyle Lovett, and Jerry Jeff Walker to name a few of the most favorites. Their photos are along the walls of the 6,000 sq. ft. dancehall.
