NEW YEAR’S REFLECTIONS

Oh, 2020, where to begin? This was a trying year for us all. It is undeniable that many have been severely impacted this year. We feel so fortunate to have been able to provide our customers with a safe place to relax and enjoy nature.

FROM OUR STAFF TO OUR WONDERFUL GUESTS

We want to send out so much compassion and love to everyone reading this that has been affected by this pandemic. We are thinking of you! In many ways, 2020 has been a reminder of just how vital a sense of community is for all of us. We are so grateful to each and every one of you for being a part of our Mystic Quarry family.

The fact alone that our staff has stayed healthy and well throughout the year is a blessing. If you’ve come to visit us since March, you’ve seen our team diligently working to keep our customers safe and comfortable.

Some good things have come from the challenges we faced this year. We can now offer a contactless check-in experience via our new Mystic Quarry App. While you are staying here, you can also have general store items delivered directly to your site by ordering on the app's online store. Our already top-notch cleaning procedures were upgraded to ensure a safe experience for the whole family.

We were able to continue offering “Music Under the Stars” by spacing out the crowd. It has brought us so much joy to see our guests light up by enjoying live music and relaxing outside. The tunes and delicious creations from the various food trucks were a major highlight of the summer!

Our staff has made significant progress in expanding our “glamping” options, with two new bunk bed tipis and our awesome new safari tents well underway. We modernized two of the deluxe cabins to match the MQ style. The RV bathhouse and laundry room are in the middle of a major makeover. Bottom line, we are keeping busy with projects!

It wouldn’t be 2020 without some setbacks. We’ve had hurdles around some of our big projects. As frustrating as they may be, we will work through it. The normal weddings and family reunions cancellations were disappointing for everyone. Our Pints-N-Pups event was moved & then canceled. Needless to say, we look forward to the day we can safely gather as a group again!

On a personal note, this year brought us a beautiful, healthy grandson Noah. Congratulations, Kaylee and Patrick Vernor.

We also have a new member of the welcoming committee, Ridge. She is a spunky pup with lots of energy.

We are very blessed to have such a wonderful, responsible staff that encouraged us to get away and take a vacation. We took them up on it and decided to embark on a two-week trek with a rented RV. The trip involved more than 4000 miles through the Rockies. We visited many cool places, hiked, relaxed and got some great ideas from our fellow campground owners while enjoying the beautiful fall scenery with our dogs in tow. A few highlights: Royal Gorge, Moab (Under Canvas), Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons...

We feel so fortunate to have been able to provide our customers with a safe place to escape the day-to-day impact of COVID-19 - just to forget, relax, enjoy nature and/or get away. We recognize how lucky we have been in 2020. It wouldn’t be possible without you. Thank you again for choosing to spend some of your time with us. Sending you peace & love this holiday season!
