Spring is here, happy people and Mystic Quarry is reveling in it! The sun is shining, a light breeze blowing, birds are singing, squirrels romping, wild flowers blooming--it’s a real-life fairy tale. Our guests are spending their days lounging on porches or by the pool, partaking in local activities and walking our trails. In the evenings they gather around the campfire sharing a meal, playing guitars and having laughs. So much joy and beauty -- come be a part of it! We have accommodations for camping and glamping so there is no better time like the present to book one of our tiny homes, cottages or RV spots.
"In like a lion, out like a lamb..."
"Can I get a Two Tons? "
Yup! Two Tons of Steel will be playing this year at our Pints-n-Pups event on June 1, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm! Get you advanced tickets on Eventbrite for $9 (live music, 5 beer tastings and lots of dog fun) all benefiting the Comal Sheriff's K-9 unit.
If you are not familiar with Two Tons, they are a local favorite, especially at Gruene Hall, where they have been entertaining young and old for the last twenty plus years. They play rockabilly and Texas country -- great for swing dancing and two-steppin’. They were voted number one country band in the San Antonio Current and have played at the Grand Ole Opry. We think you will love them, so wear your dancing shoes!
We hope you’ll be able to join us to support Comal County Sheriff’s K-9 unit and to try out some great local craft beer breweries. Aqua-Brew out of San Marcos will be here along with Texas Beer Company out of Taylor. We will announce the remaining as they sign up. Newberry Landscape will be one of our vendors and have donated items for our raffle. Kathy Newberry will once again be making dog paw ornaments available for a donation.
It's going to be a fun day for all while helping a great group of dogs -- and their humans. An excellent way to maximize your visit to Mystic Quarry is to book a stay in one of our dog-friendly tiny houses or cottages. If you do not plan to bring your furry friend, a stay in one of our boho tipis or other tiny houses would be an unforgettable way to spend a weekend!
"Music Under the Stars Series" Returns May 24th
Summer is going to be here soon and that means Friday (or Saturday) night music at the Quarry will be coming back beginning May 24th. Check out our Mystic Quarry Facebook Event Page for all the artists, dates and times they will be playing at Mystic Quarry. We have a wonderful line up this year. Guests can bring their lawn chairs and coolers and sit out under the stars for a free show. We had a little taste of summer during Spring Break with Robert Cannon Music. Great guy, great musician. You can find out more about him on Robert Cannon Music Facebook Page and he will be back again this summer. Give us a call or check out the Mystic Quarry Event Page to find out our schedule.
Easter is April 21 this year, and if the weather was anything like it was last year, it will be such a beautiful time to be outside enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends. There will be plenty of activities in the local area. On Easter Sunday, we will be having an Easter egg and a scavenger hunt for the kids.
Whitewater Amphitheater is having country music singer-songwriter Maren Morris gracing the stage on Saturday, April 20th. We will have our shuttle running for the concert, sign up at our MQ front office. The local CRRC Recreation Center just down the road here in Canyon Lake will also be having an Easter EGGstravaganza Hunt with food, live music, and vendors. It’s a free event that’s sure to be a good time for all.
Meanwhile on the Guadalupe...
We saw folks tubing this Spring Break and we are so excited that TUBING SEASON is nearly here. Mystic Quarry is the perfect base camp for a tubing voyage.
Mystic Quarry is a mile away from the glorious Guadalupe River and are partnering again this year with Shanty Tubes. You will get the Shanty VIP treatment -- you can skip the line at Shanty by purchasing wristbands at our front office. Not only will you save time and a couple of bucks each ticket; you save time by not having to find parking. When YOU’RE ready, we call the Shanty shuttle to come pick you up. When you are done floating the river, catch the Shanty shuttle to bring you back to your home away from home. It’s that simple!
Our Mystic Quarry Winter Texans
Our Winter Texans took a trip is Hamilton Pool Preserve a few weeks ago. Hamilton Pool offers a guided, hour-long hike where you will learn about the area’s indigenous people, settlers, and the local flora and fauna. The Preserve is a great place for bird watching -- keep an eye out for the Golden Cheek warbler, a local celebrity. A large pool and a 50-foot waterfall made by a collapsed grotto is a geographical wonder. Swimming is allowed, so bring your suits and towels.
For more information visit the Hamilton Pool Preserve website. Important to note: Because only a certain amount of people can be at Hamilton Pool at one time, reservations are required. You can follow this link for Hamilton Pool Reservations.
While at the Quarry…
If you’re feeling competitive or just want to have some outdoor fun with friends and family, we have several outdoor games here at our resort. New to Mystic Quarry is Disc Golf located behind our RV area. In our main courtyard we have two Bocce Ball courts, washer and horseshoe pits, ladder golf and corn hole. If you’re not familiar with these games, we have the rules and equipment to check out at the front office. We also have volley balls and badminton equipment to borrow.
Live Music Venues

On May 24th, Mystic Quarry will be hosting The Chris Cuevas Project from 7:30 to 10:30 pm.
